Morphy
vs Duke of Brunswick and Count Isourard/ Paris Opera House 1858
Paul Morphy was the first great American Chess player. It has been
said that no one has been as good at open games as Paul Morphy. He
was a tactical and strategic genius decades ahead of his time. Morphy
never considered himself a professional player and this game, like
a great majority of Morphy's games, were casual non-tournament games.
This Opera Game is probably the most famous game in chess history.
