Digital Chess clocks have received recent notoriety and are the preferred clock for adult chess players.

In fact the USCF has adopted digital clocks and have actually made them the preferred clock over analog because of the time delay feature.

This is for adult tournaments and we do not think they are ideal for children's tournaments because of the following.

· Digital clocks are hard to set.
· Each digital clock is set differently
· Digital clocks are not traditional
· Digital clocks break more easily when dropped
· Digital clocks are expensive

If it is a child's first clock, we recommend an analog clock. It will do the job just fine.

Digital clocks are the weapons of choice for blitz chess players.
